Hi there, I’m Catherine. I’d love to share my story with you so that you can understand better why I do what I do and why I am dedicated to helping families achieve a positive birth story.
I offer extensive doula support through pregnancy, birth, loss and long-term post-partum in addition to birth and family photography.
I decided to become a doula following the lovely birth of my eldest child. My partner and I had navigated several years of infertility and three pregnancy losses, which gave me plenty of time to both worry about birth, but also to learn about the many decisions you can make that may have beneficial impacts on your birth experience.
Eventually, I had such a brilliant birth experience, and this ignited in me, a need to help other families achieve positive births too.
I am passionate about evidence-based decision-making, and blend both science and soul in my approach to birth and life – I’m queer and love working with my fellow queers in all their forms – I’m also a qualified / experienced social worker.
I am so pleased that I had my birth photographed; which is why I also offer birth photography. Looking at your birth photos is a great way to relive those incredible moments and get a rush of oxytocin again! I found this an important part of my postpartum experience 🙂
